Since 1906 when J. W. Cooper opened for business, there was a drugstore on the corner of Main Street and Town Square. The last store was a branch of the Community Value Store chain (CVS), which closed when the Samoset Street and Pilgrim Hill Road store opened ca. 2000. Plymouth's venerable M & M Sporting Goods (which was once at 35 Main Street where Persy's Restaurant is now, moved to Cordage Park and then returned downtown) now occupies the property.
