I took this picture to use up some film in March, 1962, and only rediscovered it by accident later. Several of the buildings destroyed by urban renewal can be seen here - the house on Bass Place (center of the picture), the storefront and residence next to the Synagogue where the vacant lot is today, and on the opposite corner of Sandwich St., the long red tenenement that was once known as "Gale's Cabbage"(and the corner of the brown house next to the storefront, where Friendly's parking lot is now) . Also note that Market St. Bridge is lower than it is today, and the arch is far shorter.
