The Water Street Bridge over Town Brook, with the E. & J.C. Barnes' box and barrel mill (center), and the electric power plant (behind and to the right), ca. 1900. The Barnes' mill building was the surviving eastern end of the former Robbins Ropewalk, where the entrance to Brewster Gardens is today. The cupola of the Universalist Church on Carver St. can be seen above the mill.
