 The 
  iron forge built about 1794 by Nathaniel Leonard on Double Brook was bought 
  by Oliver Edes and Nathaniel Wood in 1850 when they moved their zinc mill operation 
  from Town Brook. The Edes Company later moved to the Plymouth waterfront in 
  1892, and was eventually taken over by the Revere Copper and Brass Company in 
  1959.
